The verdict: HubSpot Service Hub is a strong help desk for B2B teams that already run on HubSpot CRM, rated about 4.4 out of 5 on G2 and Capterra. It is a weaker pick if you do not use HubSpot CRM or need deep help desk customization.
What it costs: Free for up to 2 users. Starter is about $20 per seat per month (promoted from $7 on annual billing). Professional, where the real help desk starts, is about $90 per seat per month billed annually, plus a reported $1,500 onboarding fee.
Where it falls short: reviewers cite missing features as they grow, limited customization, and cost that rises with seats. And there is no native Linear integration, so engineering escalations need an add-on.
| Tier | Price per seat per month | What you get | Fits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0, up to 2 users | Ticketing, shared inbox, live chat, basic reporting | Founders answering support themselves |
| Starter | $20, promoted from $7 on annual billing | Adds routing, automation basics, more seats | Small teams working from the inbox |
| Professional | About $90 annual, $100 monthly, plus onboarding | Help desk workspace, SLAs, knowledge base, customer portal, Breeze Customer Agent | Support teams of 3 or more with a lead |
| Enterprise | About $150 annual, plus onboarding | Skill-based routing, more help desk spaces, advanced permissions | Larger teams with complex routing |
Service Hub is a good buy if
- Your sales and marketing already run on HubSpot CRM, so tickets join the records you have.
- You will pay for Professional once the team grows, because that is where the help desk workspace starts.
- You have a plan for engineering escalations, since bugs do not reach Linear on their own.

How We Reviewed It
This review draws on HubSpot's own pricing guide and knowledge base, and on published user reviews on G2, Capterra, and Gartner Peer Insights. IssueLinker builds apps for HubSpot Service Hub, so we work in it every day, but we have no affiliation with HubSpot and no ratings of our own to report. Prices are the ones HubSpot published in October 2026. HubSpot runs promotions often, so check its pricing page before you buy.
What HubSpot Service Hub Is
Service Hub is HubSpot's customer service product. It is built on the same CRM as Sales Hub and Marketing Hub, so a ticket is a CRM record linked to the contact, the company, and any open deal. That single fact explains most of what reviewers like about it and most of who it suits.
Out of the box it covers email, chat, forms, and calling channels, ticket pipelines, a knowledge base, a customer portal, surveys, and reporting. More recently HubSpot added the help desk workspace, a dedicated agent view for working tickets, and Breeze Customer Agent, an AI agent that answers customers from your knowledge base and charges HubSpot Credits per conversation. Our HubSpot ticketing system guide walks through pipelines and statuses in detail.
Ratings: What Users Say
Across the review sites, the praise and the complaints are consistent. On G2, ease of use is the most mentioned strength, and missing features, limited customization, and limited features are the most mentioned weaknesses. Gartner reviewers point to quick onboarding and the full customer view that comes from the CRM. Capterra and Software Advice reviewers who are unhappy most often call the advanced plans expensive for a small business and the ticketing experience behind dedicated help desks.
What reviewers like
- Tickets sit on the same CRM record as contacts, companies, and deals
- Easy to learn, with fast onboarding for small teams
- All channels handled from one inbox
- Reporting across support, sales, and marketing in one place
- A usable free tier to start
What reviewers dislike
- Features feel limited as support needs grow
- Less customization than Zendesk or Freshdesk
- Cost rises fast with seats and the jump to Professional
- The best features start on Professional, not Starter
- No native link to Linear for engineering escalations
Pricing in 2026
Service Hub is priced per seat, and the tier you need is set by the features you need, not by team size.
Free: $0 for up to 2 users
Ticketing, a shared inbox, live chat, and basic reporting. Enough for a founder answering support, and no more.
Starter: about $20 per seat per month
HubSpot has advertised Starter from $7 per seat per month with an annual commitment as a promotion for new customers. Starter adds routing, simple automation, and more seats. It does not include the help desk workspace, the customer portal, or Breeze Customer Agent.
Professional: about $90 per seat per month billed annually
About $100 billed monthly. HubSpot's pricing guide lists a one-time $1,500 onboarding fee. This is the tier most reviews describe: help desk workspace, SLAs, knowledge base, customer portal, surveys, custom reporting, and Breeze Customer Agent.
Enterprise: about $150 per seat per month billed annually
With a reported $3,500 onboarding fee. Adds skill-based routing, more help desk spaces, and the permissions and sandbox features larger teams need.
Two costs sit outside the seat price. Breeze Customer Agent consumes HubSpot Credits per conversation, and each tier includes a set allowance of credits. And Service Hub does not cover the handoff to engineering, which a B2B SaaS team usually needs. Our Service Hub pricing breakdown covers budgeting in more depth.
Which Tier You Actually Need
The honest answer for most B2B SaaS teams is Professional once more than two or three people handle support. HubSpot's knowledge base lists the help desk workspace for Professional and Enterprise only, and the workspace is where agents get views, SLAs, and reply suggestions. Free and Starter work well as a shared inbox with tickets. They are not the product the 4.4 rating is mostly about.
Starter is the right buy when support is one or two people working from email and chat, and you mainly want tickets on CRM records. Enterprise earns its price when routing gets complex: several teams, skills, and languages that need skill-based routing, which is Enterprise only.
The Gap: Getting Tickets to Engineering
For a software company, support is only half the job. When a customer reports a bug, the ticket has to become an engineering issue, and support has to hear when it ships.
HubSpot builds and maintains its own Jira integration, which works with Jira Cloud. For Linear, there is nothing native: HubSpot has no Linear integration of its own, and HubSpot is not one of Linear's built-in support sources, which include Zendesk, Intercom, and Front. HubSpot Community users have asked for a native Linear integration. Teams that skip it end up copying ticket details into Linear by hand and checking Linear for status before replying to customers.
IssueLinker closes that gap from inside the ticket:
- 1
Create or link the Linear issue from the ticket
A card on the HubSpot ticket opens a new Linear issue or links an existing one, with the conversation carried over. AI can draft the issue from the thread.
- 2
Sync comments both ways
Engineering's Linear comments appear as notes on the ticket, and support's notes reach the issue, with loop prevention so nothing duplicates.
- 3
Write the Linear status back to the ticket
The issue's status lands on ticket properties you can report and filter on, and a status rule can move the ticket stage when the issue is done.
It costs $39 per month flat, with unlimited users, and works on every HubSpot plan, including Free and Starter. You do not need Professional to connect Service Hub to Linear.
Connect HubSpot Service Hub to Linear
IssueLinker turns a HubSpot ticket into a linked Linear issue in one click, syncs comments both ways, and writes the Linear status back to the ticket. $39 per month, any HubSpot plan, 14-day free trial.
HubSpot Service Hub vs the Alternatives
Zendesk
Deeper help desk configuration and reporting for large support teams, but a separate CRM. See HubSpot Service Hub vs Zendesk.
Intercom
Chat-first, with a strong AI agent billed per resolution. See Intercom vs HubSpot.
Pylon and Plain
Built for B2B support in Slack, with native Linear integrations, but a second system next to your CRM. See Pylon alternatives and Plain vs IssueLinker.
Freshdesk
A cheaper standalone help desk with more customization at lower tiers. See Freshdesk alternatives.
Who Should Buy HubSpot Service Hub
The help desk workspace, SLAs, knowledge base, and AI agent, all on the same records as sales and marketing. Add IssueLinker if engineering works in Linear.
Tickets on CRM records for little or nothing. Plan the move to Professional when you need the workspace or SLAs.
Zendesk, Freshdesk, or a Slack-first tool such as Plain or Pylon will fit better than buying into HubSpot for support alone.
